Her dad didn't want me to come.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I hope they buy her a POS, I really do. She just texted me saying her dad just test drove a Civic with 220,000 miles on it that looked like hell.

How old is she that her dad is still dictating her car search? I guess if the parents are paying, it's their problem, but try not to say "TOLD YOU SO" too loud when you end up being right.
Also, my own father, a motorcyclist and Mustang enthusiast, tried talking me into a used Sebring as well because he somehow thought it would be more reliable than a Cherokee stating that his girlfriend's XJ was a "piece of shit." Luckily I'm 24 and employed and was able to laugh it off and get what I wanted. I'd rather spend every Sunday working on the Jeep than every workday driving a Sebring.

She'll end up with something she'll hate or something that'll be in the shop all the time. It's her car and not even she has much say in it.

We're only 16. They're paying for it, but you'd think they'd do some research before spending their own cash on a POS.

Ah, that sucks :( Be sure not to rub it in when whatever you drive is running smoothly and their overpriced used dealership specials are clunking to and from the shop every month.

It's already happening with their Avenger they bought used. Just had the water pump replaced after only 49,000 miles. Now the motor mount is wonky and the whole car shakes. I try so hard not to laugh.

A birdie is telling me that you'll have quite a hard life, with your father-in-law. Supposed he becomes that, which I strongly doubt.

A birdie tells me that if we stay together long enough for me to buy her a car, his ass isn't having an ounce of input to it. His car and his wife's can keep bombing whiles her's chugs along happily.
